Leather Quality Control
Description
Tools for assessing quality and suitability for use of a leather include product technical specifications, documents that define the most important characteristics for the various end-use sectors of leather products (footwear, leather goods, clothing, furniture, car interior, etc.). Whilst their application is voluntary, they represent a valid benchmark when dealing with a supplier.
The course aims to provide a detailed description of the standards developed for the leather sector, analysing the performance requirements of the various types of leather they cover.
The concluding part describes the most important tests carried out on leather in order to assess conformity with the requirements of standards and therefore quantify performance during manufacture and use of the item.
Pictures and video footage illustrate laboratory quality control apparatus and procedures.
