THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE REPTILE LEATHER INDUSTRY. REAL FACTS, NEW CHALLENGES, AND FUTURE STRATEGY

Wednesday, Feb. 26, 4-5 p.m., LINEAPELLE Secretariat Building, Conference Room First Floor

The event, organized by UNIC in collaboration with ICFA (International Crocodilian Farmers Association) and IMARC (International Multistakeholder Association for Reptile Conservation) is dedicated to the sustainability of reptile skins and will explore new challenges and future strategies toward increasing sustainability of the industry, emphasizing the fundamental role of the industry in the conservation of wildlife species, protection of ecosystems, and support for economic and social development of rural communities in Southeast Asia and beyond.

The event is free of charge with no registration and open to the public and will be conducted in English.

Speakers:
Riccardo Colato (ICFA). Since 2011, Riccardo has been a trusted supplier of exotic leathers, leveraging his deep understanding of the supply chain to meet quality, compliance, and logistical demands. He is also an early-stage member of ICFA, where he co-chairs the Under40 committee.

Cathelijne Klomp (IMARC). Cathelijne is a sustainability expert with over a decade of experience assisting the private sector adopt responsible supply chain practices. Prior to founding the Sustainability & Transparency consulting firm HOLIMPACT, she worked at PwC Sustainability Performance & Strategy and at the LVMH Environment Development Department. In January 2025, she was appointed Secretariat of IMARC where she assists the Board with defining and executing the Association's long-term strategy.
